A Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles turned violent when a passenger allegedly bit another traveler and assaulted multiple others before being restrained by flight staff. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and law enforcement are now investigating the shocking incident, which unfolded aboard Delta Flight 501 upon landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Monday.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the unruly passenger—a yet-to-be-identified adult male—exhibited violent behavior shortly after the plane touched down. Witnesses say he bit one passenger and struck several others before crew members and fellow passengers managed to restrain him. He was immediately taken into custody and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation. Emergency responders later returned to assess the injuries of the passenger who had been bitten.
Airline spokesperson Samantha Moore Facteau addressed the incident, stating, “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior and will work with law enforcement authorities.” The airline assured passengers that they are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

While numbers have since declined, airline officials and security agencies emphasize the need for continued enforcement and preventive measures to protect passengers and flight crews.
Depending on the outcome of the FAA’s investigation, the suspect in this case could face multiple legal consequences. In addition to potential criminal charges, he may also be permanently banned from flying with Delta Air Lines and potentially placed on a no-fly list.
