EAD was created to coordinate environmental compliance across LA municipal departments, oversee CEQA compliance audits, and recommend policies to the Mayor and City Council.
To consolidate administrative operations, EAD's duties were merged with LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN), City Planning, and the Bureau of Engineering.
